- Bhishma falls due to Amba's vow to seek revenge in her next life
- Bhishma falls because he cannot fight a woman
- Drona takes over for the Kauravas, and vows to make Yudhishthira his prisoner, and Arjuna vows to protect his brother at the cost of his life.
- Arjuna hears the news of his son dying, and with Krishna's help, will get revenge.
- Next, Bhima loses his son, Ghatotkacha, also.
- The Pandavas use trickery to bring about the death of their old guru, Drona.
- Karna finally takes over.
- Bhima gets his revenge on Duhshasana and is so vulgar that warriors fled from him after he drank the blood as he vowed to.
-  Arjuna and Karna begin to fight.
- Arjuna kills Karna. (e.p. 67)
- Being the coward he is, after Karna dies, Duryodhana seeks refuge under the waters of a lake using his supernatural powers.
- The Pandavas fought him and Bhima struck him in the knee as he had vowed.
- Ashwatthaman tries to kill the Pandavas while they are asleep to avenge Drona.
- Draupadi requested the jewel that laid in Ashwatthaman's head for the grief that he caused her.
- Draupadi still grieves the loss of her sons and brother.
- Bhishma tells the Pandavas how to rule the new world. And decides to die.
- Yudhishthira claims imperial kingship by horse sacrifice.
- Vyasa conjures spirits from the Ganges and families rejoice for a short while
- Krishna dies because of his omens
- Pandavas and Draupadi decide to end their time on earth, and leave the kingdom to Parikshit.
- Only Yudhishthira makes it to Mount Meru where Indra meets him. *
