Week 9 Story: Karna's Karma

Image
Long ago, a war broke out between two groups known as the Pandavas and Kauravas. These groups once ruled together, given that they were cousins of each other, but that all changed one day. The jealous ruler of the Kauravas, Duryodhana, had acquired everything the Pandavas owned: land, gold, and even their wife, by gambling with rigged dice. After taking everything from the Pandavas by deceit, he sent them into exile. However, the worst action done at the gambling hall was when Karna, an immortal warrior for Duryodhana, forced Draupadi, the wife of the Pandavas, to undress in front of everyone there. This sent the Pandavas into a rage, making vows to kill Karna and the Kauravas, but they couldn’t do anything about it. Throughout their exile, they had planned on the war that would be fought between them and their cousins once their time was up. The Kauravas had Karna, a warrior that possessed celestial armor and jewelry that made him immortal, while the Pandavas had Krishna, an avatar of

Week 8 Progress

Image
Looking Back: Looking back, i'm definitely not happy with the progress I have made so far. I let myself get behind, and it has been a struggle to catch back up. Thankfully, if I put in the work, and use the extra credit opportunities, I can get close to where I want to be. Looking Forward:  Looking forward, I definitely want to start doing most of the work the weekend before it is due. I have the most free time on the weekends, and instead of using that time to catch up, I want to start using it to get ahead. Just gotta get in there and fight back Web Source

Week 8 Comments and Feedback

Image
Feedback In:  Overall, I think most of the comments I receive have a purpose. Some comments are just saying things that I did well, and congratulating me on a post, while others give some advice on how to improve. I think all the comments I've received are important to being successful in this class. Feedback Out:  When i'm leaving a comment, I always try to first tell a person what I like, and what I believe is good about their post. Then I follow up with what I think could improve it, or what they are missing according to the guidelines. Overall, I think this is the best way to give somebody feedback. Blog Comments:  I think the introduction posts were a great way of us getting to know each other. I found one person in particular that was very similar to me, and liked a lot of the same things that I do. Also, seeing peoples writing styles and being able to communicate through comments is a cool way to keep up with them. Looking Forward:  Looking forward, I think

Week 8 Reading and Writing

Image
So far, my reading and writing for this class hasn't been the best. Being a science major, reading has never been my forte, and being creative with writing has always been something that is difficult for me. However, in regards to the layout of my blog and website, I can say that i'm happy with how they look and function. While I may not be good at being creative while writing, I do enjoy retelling some of my favorite episodes from the epics we have been reading. The epics, in my opinion, tell really interesting stories, and some episodes are so action packed that retelling them is fun. My biggest accomplishment in my writing I think is changing the perspective. I really like retelling stories from one or a few character's point of view to give it a refresh. When it comes to reading notes, it took me a while to find a style that helps me retell the story. I personally have to read an entire episode, and then bullet point the important information that happened, without carr
