Reading Notes: Epified Mahabharata, Part A

- A king marries a water goddess but can never question her.
- They live happily until they have a child and she drowns it, and does this with the next 6.
- The king does not say anything until the 8th son. She explains and leaves him and takes their last son.
- The kings long lost son returns and he is mighty,
- The king brings back his son to show everyone what mighty prince they have.
- The king falls in love with a fishermans daughter and asks to marry her but she said no because her sons would never be kings because of his son that he already has.
- The king returns heart broken and it is noticeable so the son decides to go back down and reason with the fishermans daughter.
- The fishermen still refuses to allow it because the kings son could have children in the future.
- The kings son makes an oath to never marry and have kings, he take the women to his father.
- The father feels like his kingdom is doomed and lets his son decide his faith, giving him a boon.
- The king has two more sons, and his first son acts as a father for them when the king passes.
- One of brothers dies, and davarat (the first son) worries that the other brother wont have someone to take his place.
- Davarat goes and takes 3 princesses for his brother.
- Bishmu (aka Davarat) brings the princesses but one begs to go back to her original man.
- Now with two left he send one to his brother but he refuses her (Amba) saying that she needs to marry bishmu since he took her.
- She tells bishnu what happened and asks him to marry her, he refuses her saying he cant break his oath.
- Onah becomes angry and sets out to find someone to kill him.
- Bishmu and his trainer from when he was younger begins fighting, a fight that has no end bc they are both too compatible.
- The brother of bishmu dies, leaving the kingdom with no king or prince.
- the queen has enough and asks bishmu to father the sons of the princesses that lived there, he refused.
- The queen tells about how she had a son that was hidden and would call upon asked.
- He appears and she asks him to father the sons, but the princesses were frightened.
- From the fear of the  two princesses, a blind son was born and then a son who was pale and had poor health.
- A servant excepts sage and has one of the wisest sons to be born.
- There was a grudge for the thorn between the blind son and the weak but bishma didnt see it.
- Bishma finds the blind king a wife, she gives up her sight for her husband.
- Her brother is angry by this and seeks for revenge.
- The mild brother has two wives and one has a secret that will change the world.
